This series is based on the manga, it follows Maya Kitajima on her quest to become an actress. She meets Tsukikage Chigusa who teaches her acting and later Himekawa Ayumi becomes her rival. The teo rival fight it out to become the next successor of the role of “The Crimson Goddess”.

I like the romantic aspect to the anime as it is “forbidden” love. Hayami Masumi of Daito Entertainment eventually falls in love with Maya but due to the ten-odd age gap between these two characters he cannot confront her. Instead he acts as a mysterious fan occasionally sending her bouquets of purple roses – As a result he is given the nickname Mr Purple Rose.

I did mostly enjoy this series- I found it so sweet and darling at times. The drawing style appealed to me greatly as it is so nostalgic and dear to me. The only aspect of the series that I ddin’t like so much  was the fact that it was unfinished. Understandable the series was not done yet but I really didn’t like the last episode as I find recap episodes so boring.
